Growing up, I felt "different" but didn't know why. My friends would talk about boys and I never understood what they were explaining, but pretended I did. I grew up in a small town in New Jersey, and I did everything in my power to fit in. It wasn't until college that I realized my being "different" was in fact me being gay. 💁♀️😂
At the time, I didn't have many examples from my town to look up to, and I found myself saying "they should write a book about this!"
Since then, I have looked up to amazing people, read great books, watched representation pop up on TV, and I went through my unique journey of self-acceptance, self love, and confidence building.
Our stories and experiences are our own, but I couldn't help but notice the similarities in emotions that come up, and the feelings we feel when coming out. When I heard other people's journeys and experiences I felt less alone!
So here I am. While my journey is ongoing, I strive to be the person to hopefully help you or someone close to you feel less alone. I took my experiences, stories, embarrassments, EVERYTHING and put them in my book. The first part you will get to know me, and the second part is my advice (based on my experiences).
